One ball, four players, one clock. Nobody's counting strokes.
Friday afternoon into the evening, once the matches wrap, we're running the Fastest Hole on hole 5 from shortened tees. It's played in foursomes, so you and your partner will need another two-man team — find one now, before Friday, and settle who's hitting the tee shot.
One player hits the tee shot. After that, where the other three stand is entirely up to the team — we don't dictate positions. Two in the landing zone and one on the green, one deep and two short, whatever you think gives you the best shot. Placement is the whole strategy.
One: the ball has to come to rest before it's struck — run to it, yell at it, swing whatever club is in your hand, but let it stop first. Two: hit it out of bounds and you're done — OB is a DQ.
Time starts when the tee shot is struck and stops when the ball drops. Strokes don't matter. A seven in ninety seconds beats a four in two minutes. Fastest foursome on Friday takes it.
