Flight Winners & Runners-Up compete for the title
Two-man teams compete in five 9-hole matches in Four Ball Match Play Format.
All 9 holes are played in each match. After all five matches, the team with the most points in their flight advances as Flight Winner. The 2nd place team advances as Flight Runner-Up. Both advance to the Championship Horse Race.
Alternate shot from the White tees, 50% team handicap (rounded down), strokes as they fall on the card. Continuous putting from closest to furthest. Teammates alternate tee shots hole to hole.
The winning team is crowned 2026 Pheasant Invitational Champions. Chip-offs break all ties.
9-hole par 3 course competition to kick off the tournament.
Alternate shot elimination format. Field split into 4 groups across different holes. Top 2 from each group advance to finals on Holes 6–9. Elimination each hole down to a final 3 for Win, Place & Show.
9-hole qualifying (most aces). Top 4 advance to Saturday semifinals. Top 2 from semis play the championship round. Enter as many times as you like. Top 4 finishers are in the money.
All competitors must have established handicaps using GHIN or equivalent. Handicaps are based on each competitor's low handicap for the prior 6 months per NCGA guidance. Maximum handicap differential for a team is 12 — teams with a greater differential will have the high handicap player capped.
Main competition matches use 90% handicap. The Championship Horse Race uses 50% of team handicap (rounded down).
The Pheasant Committee reserves the right to adjust any handicap it deems fitting to ensure competitive integrity, both before and during the tournament.
Substitutions are not allowed once the competition has begun.
If a team is forced to withdraw during the event, all of their prior and future matches will be scored 0–20.
Flight winner tiebreaker: head to head, scorecard playoff, chip-off. Horse race ties broken by chip-off.
Competition decisions follow NCGA rules and guidance.
